It’s on! The third running of the Wild Horse Criterium will take place on April 8th - Easter Sunday

Entries

On-line entries are now open and can be made via the entry page (link to the left).  Current closing date for entries is 6:00 pm, April 6th* 

The Course

There’s a new course this year, a little longer than the course used in 2011 (close to 12 km**).  The added distance is offset by improved conditions underfoot and bypassing some stretches that have suffered deterioration from the elements.

The outline of the course itself will not differ greatly from last years, and the currently publish route will give you a good idea of the locality.

We expect the new map to be uploaded over the coming days, subject to a recce this weekend.

Events

Again, there will be three events available:

Runners head off for the start of the 10.7 km run - 2011

Start/Finish Area

We have an extended permit this year and have agreed terms with Forest Plantations Queensland to have exclusive use of the car park area.

This will hopefully mean a less cluttered start/finish area without the confusion of runners passing through between laps and, of course, vehicular traffic.

Parking

Parking will be along one side (left hand, inbound) of Whild Horse Rd and on the gravel section of Johnston Rd if necessary. If, on the day, you are parked near the intersection of both roads, allow time for a 600 metre walk to the start.

There will be a marshall/steward on duty to direct you.

* Should the permit limit be reached prior to this date or, if it appears that it may do, entries may be closed early with little notice though, should the event arise, we will aim to provide as much notice as possible.

** Please note, distances will be finalised in the coming weeks with the maximum lap distance being 12 km's.
